Unleash the GNU in you freedom T-Shirt.

June 17, 2009 By: Dexter Category: DIY, Fun, Projects, gnu

Here is a free T-shirt design,  I had been planning to make the same for a long time, but could not get time, and this idea is just sitting on my hard disk for ages.

So I have decided to write this blog post on this.

If you actually make it, by hand, do send me a snapshot :)

T - shirt unleash the gnu

T-Shirt "Unleash the gnu" -- Front

What does message does this T-Shirt conveys ?
“Unleash The GNU in you”, i.e unleash the free software enthusiasm/craziness etc in your self. Become a FOSS person etc.

The back side of the T-shirt can have the same message i.e unleash the GNU in you as text.

Infra Red Receiver On Bread Board

The LIRC or the Linux Infrared Remote Control is an interesting project (package) that allows you to control your computer with your (tv) remote control. Like controlling the music player app or movie player. If you are planning to use it with you desktop box you will need to build the IR receiver on your own.

Zoyd has been planning to get a media box/ movie player out of some old hardware that he has, few days back he got the component from the local market which somewhere around Rs.75/-.

I assembled the circuit on a Bread Board to check out whether it works or not.

Guess what

It worked… as per the test circuit… the the test LED glowed in response to the key presses from the TV remote.

Wow it was great fun… and after a long time i actually did try out some electronic project.

It is not finally assembled.. we need to decide on housing and placement.

will get back will finally working details later.
