Had been using GIMP for some time now, so just thought to put some small tutorial stuff here.
It’s also going to help me later to do the same again. (took me loads of time to identify the gradient which i had use for this work)
I call this the Alien Warp Wallpaper.
To do this start GIMP
- Start with a new file or should is say canvas of the required screen resolution, I used 1024×768 and white background
- From the menu (canvas window) select: Filters >> Render >> Lava
- In the Lava dialogue box uncheck Separate Layer
- Click on the Gradient Box and select Tropical Colors
- Click ok to apply the Lava effect to the canvas. You should get a similar to Image 1.
- I would like to call this as the Alien Space

Image 1. Alien Space Pattern generated using Lava Filter |
- Next from the menu select: Filters >> Render >> Line Nova and click ok. (I have used default settings. Try different combination of values to get different warp radius and speed).
- Your Alien Warp Wallpaper is ready!
